Balmer Lawrie was formed as a partnership firm in 1867. Balmer Lawrie became a private limited company in 1924 and a public limited company in 1936. Since inception Balmer Lawrie has been a dividend paying company except in 1924, 1972 and 1975.

Dividend @Rs 17 per equity share of Rs. 10 each has been declared at 91st Annual General Meeting held on 26th September 2008.
